Cisco’s SMART Muni app waits for funding

A GPS-based Apple iPad app developed by volunteers in San Francisco to track the city’s buses in real time is awaiting the availability of funding to enable the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni) to invest in the necessary handhelds on which to run the software in a pilot programme among transit managers

and passengers. The software was created during a civic hackathon.
