The groups that dominate city transport operations in France


Keolis is majority owned by French state railway company SNCF, which has just raised its stake from 56.7% to 70% of the company by buying out part of the private equity interests which now hold the rest other than management and staff with 2.8%.

In 2010, revenues at the group were 4.1 billion euros, up 16% on 2009, with 32% of its turnover being generated in French urban areas. The company has 47,200 employees (30,800 in France, 16,400 outside). It currently operates 160 subsidiaries in...
