RATP and Alstom seek lead on conversions

Paris Transport Authoity RATP and train builder Alstom earlier this year created a joint venture Metrolab with the aim of developing the ‘automatic metro of the future’. As well as new systems, the partners are hoping to offer a proven approach to upgrading existing metro lines to driverless.

Pierre Mongin, CEO of RATP and Philippe Mellier, President of Alstom Transport announced the project at the 59th UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Dubai.
