Coucher received £1m Network Rail pay off

Network Rail’s former chief executive, Iain Coucher, received a £1m-plus compensation package on leaving the company in October, the company’s annual report and accounts have revealed.

On termination of his contract, Coucher received a negotiated settlement to close out potential award rights under the long term incentive plan for Network Rail’s executives (£370,000), plus contractual payments for in lieu of notice amounting to 12 months’ salary. In total,...
