Stagecoach launches contactless payment on Merseyside

Stagecoach Merseyside has become the first UK bus operator to accept contactless debit and credit card payments on its network following the launch of Mastercard’s PayPass technology on the operator’s 200-strong bus fleet.

Vehicles have been fitted with reading equipment that will allow Stagecoach passengers to pay for their tickets using contactless Mastercard debit and credit cards. Stagecoach hopes that the payment technology will speed up boarding times on its services around...
