SWT to extend green cycle hire after successful pilot

South West Trains is to extend the UK rail network’s first green cycle hire initiative following a successful pilot scheme.

Earlier this year, the Stagecoach-owned operator joined forces with Brompton Bicycle aiming to encourage more integrated low-carbon journeys combining bike and train.

SWT invited some of its season ticket holders to take part in a free trial of the scheme, using Brompton’s folding bikes.

Now, SWT is making 50 bikes available for hire to South West Trains...
