Cover the country with bus QCs to avoid a regulatory muddle

I found the Labour Party’s proposals regarding public transport and (in particular) the concept of ‘Bus Deregulation Exemption Zones’ extremely difficult to grasp (‘Labour suggests TfL-style bodies for all of Englands’s city regions’ LTT 22 Jun). If shadow transport secretary Maria Eagle considers (as I do) that bus deregulation has failed, then she should surely propose its complete abolition.

A patchwork of some areas regulated and some areas deregulated...
