Transport governance review for South Yorks

Local authorities in the Sheffield city-region are embarking on a governance review that could see them follow Greater Manchester’s lead by creating a combined authority for transport and economic development.

As part of their city region deal being negotiated with ministers, council leaders have agreed to review governance arrangements for economic development, regeneration and transport using the provisions of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009.
