Bus lane cameras switched off

The City of Edinburgh Council has decommissioned two of its five bus lane enforcement cameras just weeks after they were turned on. The decision to suspend the Willowbrae Road cameras follows complaints from motorists. Edinburgh’s transport convener, Lesley Hinds, said many drivers had entered the bus lanes for “good reason”, for instance, prior to turning left or to avoid queuing behind traffic waiting to turn right.
