South West RSS inquiry re-opens tension about investment priorities

Tensions between stakeholders in the south-west of England about transport investment priorities have re-surfaced in responses to the regional assembly's draft regional spatial strategy (RSS).

The 10-week Examination in Public of the RSS begins on 17 April in Exeter, with transport matters being discussed on 26/27 June.

Responding to questions raised by the EiP inspection panel, the South West Regional Assembly says the RSS does not prioritise between transport schemes that enhance connectivity...
