A14 Haughley Bends bypass, Suffolk

A public inquiry into the A14 Haughley Bends bypass is due to begin on 14 November. The proposed scheme comprises a 4km dual carriageway road diverging south of the existing A14, west of Haughley New Street, rejoining the A14 north-west of Stowmarket. It includes a grade separated junction for local traffic north of Harleston. Draft Orders are expected next year with the road completed by 2008.

Client: The Highways Agency. Estimated cost: £32m....
