RPA predicts strong rail growth but no immediate need for new capacity

The Government has published a Regional Planning Assessment (RPA) for the Eastern region of England comprising the East of England planning region, Milton Keynes and 16 boroughs in north, east and central London. RPAs have been designed to inform the development of the Government's strategy for the railways; it is due to publish a High Level Output Specification (HLOS) detailing its requirements for the period 2009-14 in 2007.
