Ordnance Survey develops multi-modal routing tool

A multi-modal routing tool that integrates over one million kilometres of existing OS road, rail, path and ferry networks, along with the 300,000 transport sites that connect them, has been developed by Ordnance Survey (OS). Where transport planners previously had to process and join multiple layers of transport data, all routing information will now be in one place, reducing the effort required in preparing the data for use, said OS. This, it added, will allow the planning of routes from start to finish, for example from road to rail via a train station.
