Date set for Forth bridge contract

The Scottish Government plans to hand over the operation of the existing Forth road bridge to the private sector in June 2015, according to the Forth Estuary Transport Authority, which currently manages the crossing. An invitation to tender for the contract is expected to be published next July, with a contract award in December 2014. The contract will include operation of the new bridge that is currently under construction and due to open in 2016, plus approach roads to the bridges. A...
