Cross-Forth hovercraft plan sunk

Councillors in Edinburgh have blocked a planned cross-Forth hovercraft service between Edinburgh and Fife. The council rejected Stagecoach Group’s planning application for a slipway and associated passenger facilities at Portobello just weeks after Fife Council approved the planning application for facilities in Kirkcaldy.
