Capital’s traffic penalties fall


The number of penalty charge notices (PCNs) issued to drivers by London boroughs and Transport for London fell by about 1% last year – but there were still almost five million.

PCNs issued for illegal parking, driving in bus lanes and other moving traffic contraventions fell by 41,208 in 2010/11 to 4,813,865. The number is down 22% in the last three years, from 6,176,752 in 2007/08.
