Surrey trims bus network

Councillors in Surrey have approved revised tendered local bus networks for parts of the county that are expected to save £790,000 a year. The council has worked with operators to review the network in the Surrey Heath, West Woking and Tandridge areas. Iain Reeve, Surrey’s head of strategy, transport and planning, said the changes were predicted to lead to a patronage loss of 5-6% but “could well be less in practice”.
