Bucks promotes DIY transport

Buckinghamshire County Council is encouraging residents to develop local transport schemes themselves.

Jim Stevens, Buckinghamshire’s head of transport, told LTT: “We’ve been asking how we can live with a reduced budget.” He said the answer was that walking and cycling schemes, rural transport, and some road safety schemes “could all be operated in a Big Society way at lower cost”.
