New rating system for casualties outlined

Researchers have recommended a new method to simplify the police’s collection of information about the severity of road accident casualties.

Interviews with police officers revealed a “lack of clarity” about how to classify injuries using the current STATS19 system, said the team from University College London, Swansea University and Monash University in Australia.
