South Essex Rapid Transit

Essex County Council has submitted a Major Scheme Business Case for the South Essex Rapid Transit (SERT) project to the DfT. SERT is being jointly developed by Essex (leading) together with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Thurrock Council. The bus-based network will comprise three routes: Lakeside-Thurrock-Basildon Hospital; East Mayne-Basildon-Basildon Hospital; and Progress Road Industrial Estate to Southend.
