West Yorks buses cut

Bus operator First is facing fierce criticism from Metro, the West Yorkshire PTE, for announcing service reductions in the conurbation from July.

Explaining the cuts, Dave Alexander, managing director of First West and North Yorkshire, said: “In some areas of West Yorkshire, and on some routes, we are seeing a decline in the number of people using our services and therefore we have to make changes so as to maintain the commercial viability of these services”.
