A programme of traffic management measures in Portsmouth is unlikely to deliver any tangible benefits to air quality, according to a modelling study commissioned by the city council.
Measures tested included: signalising roundabouts and/or junctions; changing junction layouts; converting bus stops on carriageways into laybys; changing traffic signal timings; altering lane allocations; and removing off-street parking.
