Kent consults on the future of its street light switch-off policy

Kent County Council is to consult on scrapping, amending, or retaining its policy of switching off street lights in residential streets, which has attracted criticism from many residents.  

Kent has 118,000 street lights and 25,000 lit signs and bollards and the council spends more than £9.5m a year on energy costs and maintenance.
