Herts and LUL­­­­-battle to prevent new rail link going down the Tube

A plan to extend London Underground’s Metropolitan line to Watford Junction has been hit by a huge rise in costs and a troubled relationship between Hertfordshire County Council and London Underground Ltd.

Uncertainty surrounds  the future of the Croxley rail link project this week, which would extend London Underground’s Metropolitan line to Watford Junction in Hertfordshire. 

Talks about a funding package  are ongoing between Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), London Underground Ltd (LUL), and the DfT, but there appears a possibility of the scheme collapsing.
