Safer lorry scheme ‘likely to save one cyclist fatality a year’

Transport for London and London Councils are consulting on their proposed Safer Lorries Scheme, which aims to reduce the risk of collisions with cyclists.

The London-wide scheme, which should be introduced next summer, will require vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (gross weight) to be fitted with sideguards and additional mirrors.
