DfT blamed for week-long line closure
The Department for Transport has this week been blamed for the week-long closure of two community rail lines in the South West of England.
Julia Thomas, public transport campaigner for campaign group Transport 2000, said: “The DfT removed a staggering 29 carriages from First Great Western’s franchise in December - down to 104 carriages from 133.
