New franchisees avoid Aslef strike action

Train drivers’ union Aslef has called off three one-day strikes scheduled this month at the new London Midland and  East Midlands franchises.

The strikes had been called in Aslef’s pensions dispute with National Express at the former Midland Mainline and Silverlink companies which are now part of the new franchises.
