Margins slip at Stagecoach as new round of deals signal more major structural change
TRANSPORT?group?Stagecoach saw profit levels dip during the year to April 30, 2006, as margins in all divisions fell and losses were recorded at the newly acquired UK urban bus operations in Liverpool and South Yorkshire.
Further major change was signalled during the year, with the disposal of the company’s New Zealand operations which yielded a book profit of over £22m, and the acquisition of bus operators Glenvale and Traction Group - the latter bringing around 1,000 vehicles...
