LCR state aid could mean Eurostar rival
The European Commission has approved a final package of UK state aid for London and Continental Railways in a decision which could lead to rival rail services to Eurostar being set up on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
The £5.2bn of aid will be used to pay off London and Continental Railways’ debts paving the way for the sale of the 68-mile High Speed One and LCR's share of Eurostar.
