Tests begin on Heathrow’s ULTra PRT system

Advanced Transport Systems and BAA Heathrow have commenced running tests on the new ULTra Personal Rapid Transit system that will link the Terminal 5 with a car park on the periphery of the airport.

The construction phase of the project was completed on time and on budget. ATS have now begun the fit out programme and extensive system testing in preparation for the launch of ULTra to passengers in autumn 2009. The £25m system is the first commercial PRT system in the world.
