Harnessing the sun and wind to light the way
A mast lighting system that incorporates both a solar panel and a wind turbine has been developed by Essex-based company Kestrel Renewables. The lighting units have been created for use in retail parks, car parks, industrial estates and at transport interchnanges. The first units were installed harbourside at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk.
