APT Skidata launches QR barcode option

APT Skidata has launched a two-dimensional quick response (2D/QR) barcode reader as an integral part of its parking control column. The new device allows barcode tickets that have been sent to the customer’s mobile phone, PDA or printed on paper to be read to facilitate access, accept payment or recognise discount entitlements. The ‘omnidirectional’ barcode imager is designed to capture the barcode in less than a second, regardless of how the barcode is oriented.
