Tobacco workers take action over Notts parking levy

Workers at Imperial Tobacco’s Nottingham factory started industrial action on 30 April in protest at the firm’s decision to pass on part of the cost of the newly introduced Workplace Parking Levy in the city. Chris Needham, regional officer of the trade union GMB, said that Imperial Tobacco could easily afford to foot the bill for the levy, which is £288 a space per year.
