Cuts forces Southampton to axe 200 posts
Southampton City Council will axe up to 200 posts to balance next year’s budget. Up to 99 full time jobs will be affected by the cuts totalling £13.8m in 2012/13. A further 100 vacant posts will not be replaced as a result of the council’s efficiency drive.
