More vehicles affected by low emission levels
New tougher low emission zone (LEZ) standards for London come into force in January 2012. Transport for London (TfL) said that about 150,000 vehicles would be affected by the new standard. Owners and operators of 75,000 HGVs, buses and coaches and 72,000 larger vans and minibuses will need to upgrade their vehicles to ensure they meet LEZ standards.
Owners of HGVs, buses and coaches that do not meet the required Euro IV standard for particulate matter will have to pay a £200 daily charge...
