Red light for Swindon’s speeding offenders

Speeding motorists in Swindon will be confronted by red traffic lights under a road safety scheme to be tested by the borough council.

The system will be piloted on two roads that suffer from high numbers of vehicles exceeding the 40mph limit. Vehicles passing a data logger at speeds above a specified threshold will trigger the MOVA-controlled traffic signals at the junction to turn from green to red.
