Local authorities are facing an average reduction in spending of 28% over four years as a result of chancellor George Osborne’s Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), unveiled on 20 October.
Overall revenue funding from Whitehall will reduce by 28% in real terms including funding for police and fire authorities from £28.5bn this year to £22.9bn in 2014/15.
