Which? highlights NHS trusts’ £1m surpluses

Consumer Association’s magazine says high tariffs do not equal high profits

Some hospitals are generating more than £1m a year in parking profits, an investigation by Which? has revealed. The Consumer Association’s magazine used the Freedom of Information Act to find out the profit margins from car park fees at 23 English trusts over the past three years.

The magazine asked trusts how much they spent on running parking facilities, what they charged for a four-hour stay and how much revenue they generated from their visitor, staff and patient car parks.
