Pilot to test powers against persistent evaders

New powers to crack down on those with more than three unpaid parking and traffic fines are to be trialled by Transport for London and the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea.

The six-month pilot, due to start in January 2010, will adopt powers which target drivers who have failed to pay three or more parking, moving traffic or bus lane fines. London authorities and TfL will be able to clamp or remove the vehicles of persistent evaders even if they...
