Year-round P&R could undermine local bus services, a Welsh council fears.

The risk of revenue abstraction from city centre car parks has been cited by Newport City Council as a reason for not establishing a year-round park & ride scheme.
Council officers also said there would be “no demand” for such a service to operate every Saturday in the year.
Since 2000, Newport council has provided a free Saturdays-only P&R facility during the Christmas shopping season. Last year the service was available on 16 Saturdays and was used by nearly 7,000 people....
