Oakervee takes helm at HS2
Douglas Oakervee has been appointed Chairman of the HS2 project. He was executive chairman of the Crossrail project in London from 2005 to 2009 and has also been a project director at Chek Lap Kok International Airport in Hong Kong.
The High Speed 2 project involves the construction of dedicated high-speed rail links from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, with links to Heathrow Airport and, via the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1), to mainland Europe.
