CBT warns of premium rail fares and ticket office closures
The Campaign for Better Transport has warned that government proposals for fares reform set out alongside its rail Command Paper could lead to large increases in some peak fares, despite a commitment to limit average fare rises to no more than inflation. CBT also expressed concerns over the prospect of new ticketing technology leading to station ticket office closures.
