First appoints Surch as new group finance director

FirstGroup has appointed a new group finance director to replace Jeff Carr who left the company in November. Chris Surch will join First in September from international waste management business Shanks Group where he has been finance director since 2009. Prior to joining Shanks he held senior financial roles at Smiths Group and TI Group. He began his career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers where he qualified as an accountant.
