Hybrid launch in Sheffield
A fleet of 21 Stagecoach buses fitted with BAE System’s hybrid electric propulsion system is now in service across Sheffield. The launch of the double deck buses, powered by BAE System’s HybriDrive® Series system, took place on 18 September. This follows the rolling out of similar hybrid electrically powered buses in London, Reading, Oxford, Manchester, Newcastle, Hull and Edinburgh over the past 18 months.
