East Coast reports rising demand as travellers battle cold weather
Intercity rail operator East Coast has revealed that it is currently carrying more than a third more passengers than at the same time last year as a result of the current cold snap.
The company says that it will continue to run a special timetable between Edinburgh and London across the weekend, as staff keep work hard day and night to keep trains on the move.
