Free buses face cuts

West Yorkshire’s free town centre bus services and flagship yellow school bus network are under threat from spending cuts.

Kieran Preston, the director general of Metro, the West Yorkshire PTE, told councillors that £121m of the PTE’s £174m annual spend was on mandatory items and could not be cut.
