RMT accepts London Underground assurances on jobs
Transport for London has welcomed the RMT leadership’s acceptance of London Underground’s assurances on jobs and its efforts to avoid compulsory redundancies, but stressed that nothing has changed following the RMT’s recent 48hrs strike.
LU has said that it had always maintained that it would do all it could to avoid compulsory redundancies following the integration of Metronet and the need to cut around 1,000 posts in order to avoid duplication.
