RideShark is a sophisticated GIS-based rideshare matching system first developed in North America and now available in the UK. Based on a Microsoft platform RideShark is one of the most user-friendly systems available. It matches for carpool partners as well as bike, walking and public transport ‘buddies’. The core application includes single trip matching, along-route matching, extensive administrative functions as well as a cost and emission calculator. Users have the ability to filter matches based on defined criteria, including distance from origin, destination, route. Routing can be modified by the user. Schedule matching included. Photo upload, SMS/Text messaging enabled.
