Deal to underpin growth of Newcastle International Airport

Newcastle International Airport's shareholders have selected global investment manager AMP Capital as the new partner for a 49 per cent shareholding.

The refinancing of the airport by five banks has also been completed, supporting the growth of the airport by reducing the size of debt interest payments. Six of the seven North East local authorities owning the majority stake in the airport will make a further investment of £68m in the airport.
