SEStran councils shun spending on regional transport strategy

Local authorities in South East Scotland spent just £132,000 on the South East Scotland Transport Partnership’s (SEStran) regional transport strategy measures last year.

The figure is revealed in SEStran’s new annual delivery report. Speaking to LTT this week, SEStran chairman Russell Imrie, a Midlothian councillor, pointed out that the regional transport strategy (RTS) was a statutory document.  “We’re putting words in documents and not enacting them....
